Since ancient times, braided ribbons and knots have been cherished motifs in jewelry across the world. The knot typically symbolizes union, strength, or the bond between people. The sailor’s knot themed Teljä Maiden was designed by Mr Germund Paaer, the first Head of Design at Kalevala, in the 1940s. The beloved motif was part of the Kalevala jewelry range till the 2010s. Width 12 mm, height 18 mm. Stud fastening, silver stud and back.

Bronze is an alloy of copper, tin and zinc which
tarnishes faster than precious metals. The new bronze jewelry has a jewelry protector
varnish surface that prevents the jewelry from darkening. With the Kalevala cleaning cloth, you can
polishes areas that have dimmed if the protective varnish has worn off.
After cleaning, it's a good idea to wash the jewelry in mild soapy water, so as not to damage the cloth
