The silver Snake charm has taken its shape and inspiration from the iconic Snake ring, which has been part of the Kalevala jewelry collection for over 80 years. The 7th century prototype of the piece was found in Vesilahti. The cylinder-shaped charm has an inner diameter of 7 mm. Wear the Snake charm on the necklace or bracelet of your choice. The Snake charm is available exclusively in the Kalevala webshop and Kalevala stores in Helsinki. Also available in bronze.
Snakes were believed to be immortal because they shed their skin. Featured in jewelry, the snake symbolised success and the course of life. A snake ring also symbolised power and courage. The ring is based on the model of a ring, found in Vesilahti in the Pirkanmaa region, dating back to the 7th century AD. The spiral has cross-stitch ornamentation and easily recognisable snake-shaped motifs at both ends.

Care instructions for silver jewelry
Kalevala silver jewelry is handcrafted in Finland from sterling silver. More than 99% of the silver we use is recycled.
Over time, all silver jewelry darkens. Darkening can be prevented by regular cleaning and proper storage of the jewelry. Dark spots can be removed with a Kalevala cleaning cloth. After cleaning, it is a good idea to wash the jewelry in mild soapy water so that the cleaning agent does not stain the clothes. The cleaning cloth is not suitable for cleaning stones set in silver jewelry.
It is good to keep the jewelry in its original packaging. Additional protection for jewelry without
against the darkening effect of impurities is provided by a tight plastic bag.
