PRODUCT DESCRIPTION AND FEATURES

The inspiration, colors and manufacturing materials of Kalevala Jewelry's new Nolla jewelry series come directly from nature. The striking Nolla silver earrings are combined with a colorful leaf-like element made of a completely new type of biomaterial.

The transparent bioplastic 3D printed from the biomaterial of the company Brightplus is a Finnish innovation. Only renewable, organic raw materials are used for its production, such as hemp, sugar cane and broad beans. The colors also come from nature: blue from morsingo, black from soot and green from metal oxide. The silver parts of the earrings are made of 100% recycled silver. The part of the biomaterial is attached to the jewelry with a small screw made of surgical steel (AISI 316L).

The earrings are mirror images of each other, marked L (left) and R (right) on the back. Nolla earrings are produced in a limited batch, and they are for sale only in our online store and in Kalevala stores in Helsinki. Also available in blue and black .

JEWELRY STORY

The Nolla jewelry series introduces renewable, innovative biomaterials to Kalevala Jewelry. Nolla jewelry is made from 100% recycled silver and a plant-based biomaterial developed in Finland. The colors of the biomaterial also come from nature: black from soot, blue from woad, and green from metal oxide. Designed by Taru Harmaala Chaloff, the jewelry series was inspired by Finland's endangered flowers, the Meadow Rue in particular. The Finnish name of the jewelry series "Nolla" means "Zero" in English.
