Kalevala Bear bendant large silver leather

The larger Kalevala Bear pendant measures 17,5 mm in width and 17,5 mm in height (including the bail). Patterned on both sides. Black leather band, width 3 mm, length 100 cm. One end of the band is secured to a bronze or silver end cap featuring the Kalevala Koru maker’s mark and logo. The end cap measures 3.5 mm in width and 15 mm in length.

The velvety-soft band is made from Finnish vegetable-tanned and naturally dyed reindeer leather. No aluminum or chromium has been used in the tanning process. The leather is a by-product of reindeer husbandry and food production. The leather band is also available separately. 

Designed by Kaisaleena Mäkelä in the 1990s, Kalevala Bear was part of the extensive Inception collection that drew inspiration from jewelry featuring mythical animal motifs, worn by northern peoples in ancient times. The beloved classic now returns with a new look to celebrate Kalevala’s 90^th anniversary. The bear is stamped with the anniversary year logo.
