Designed by Björn Weckström in the late 1980’s, the magnificent Sorgente earrings are available again in a limited edition. In the impressive yet wonderfully light earrings silver is combined with crystal clear acrylic, reminiscent of ice and pure spring water. Sorgente is Italian for fountain. The limited series celebrates Björn Weckström’s 85th anniversary. For pierced ears. Available in the Lapponia webshop and Flagship Store in Helsinki, and at selected retailers.

JEWELRY STORY

The relaunch of the acrylic jewelry designed by Björn Weckström celebrates the renowned artist’s 85th anniversary and pays homage to his extraordinary career spanning way over half a century. Green and blue tint is applied by hand onto the silver element inside the clear acrylic sphere of the Petrified Lake ring (famous for having been worn by Yoko Ono) as well as onto the acrylic drop attached to the Creature no 5 necklace, making each ring and necklace a unique piece of art. Limited edition.

Care instructions for silver jewelry

Kalevala silver jewelry is handcrafted in Finland from sterling silver. More than 99% of the silver we use is recycled.

Over time, all silver jewelry darkens. Darkening can be prevented by regular cleaning and proper storage of the jewelry. Dark spots can be removed with a Kalevala cleaning cloth. After cleaning, it is a good idea to wash the jewelry in mild soapy water so that the cleaning agent does not stain the clothes. The cleaning cloth is not suitable for cleaning stones set in silver jewelry.

It is good to keep the jewelry in its original packaging. Additional protection for jewelry without
against the darkening effect of impurities is provided by a tight plastic bag.
